I mentioned on my announcement blog post that Charlie was jaundice, and we were having to go into the doctor every day for a heel stick. Today he received the all clear to stay home and not return to the doctor until May for his 2 month check-up. Woo hoo! He is still jaundice but it went down drastically. They said his eyes will be the last thing to go back to normal, but that shouldn't be too terribly long. He also is gaining weight again! He had dropped 8% of his birth weight, down to 7 lbs 10oz, but today he's back up to 8 lbs 2 oz! He's quite the eater!
Today was a big day for Charlie. We were at the doctor by 9:40 and left around 11:30. We made a pit stop at Grandpa Buck's work, so Grandpa Buck could show off his little grandson. I think Charlie was a hit!
We then stopped at Bethel to drop off cookies for the Lenten meal tomorrow night. I'm not planning on taking him to church just yet with all the flu germs still in the air. When we walked into the church office, all progress froze. All the secretaries raced over to get a glimpse of our main man. Pastor Wahl came out and greeted him as well. After the ladies were done oohing and aahhing over him, we headed back to our friend Michael's office. There Charlie was oogled by Pastor Jason, Pastor Anjanette, Susan and Michael. I would say he was accepted into the Bethel circle! On our way out, we ran into Darcy. She was so excited she didn't miss the big visit.
When we got home, Uncle Jon decided to spend his lunch break with us. Unfortunately, Charlie was a little hungry, so Uncle Jon didn't get as much snuggle time as he had wanted. Hopefully another day will work better for him.
The main event for Charlie today was he attended graduate school as a 6 day old baby. He accompanied me to class tonight. It did not go as I had planned. Usually he eats and then sleeps for a few hours. Tonight he ate, then wanted to eat again, then had a blow out diaper, then wanted to eat again....Needless to say, we left early. All my classmates were quite excited to meet Charlie though.
Tomorrow we have a day filled with planned visitors, but I'll update you later on that!
Here's what you've been waiting for, pictures!
Tony gave Charlie his first bath at home. He was such a champ; no crying at all! He's looking lovingly at his daddy.
Grandpa Alan and Grandma Cher brought the great grandparents for a visit. Charlie was comfy cozy in Great Grandpa Bob's arms.
Last night, Tony and Charlie has some daddy/son floor time. They liked looking at each other and making silly faces.
Today, Charlie and I spent some time on the floor. He's learning to pose well for the camera.
Big yawn!
Tony took a picture of Charlie and I because I realized I don't really have any yet. It's not the best, but I'm sure I'll capture some more in the future.
Here's Charlie helping me study. He did a great job of distracting me with his snuggleness.
I'm sure he will learn to pose for the camera like his mom did. She had her picture taken so many times by her grandma that film companies had to hire extra help to keep up.
ReplyDeleteGlad he's getting used to a camera. Better warn him about Aunt Laur!
