Christmas Express!

Duluth Post #4

The reason we went up to Duluth was to ride the Christmas Express train! It was better than I had expected! It was SO fun to see how Charlie was enjoying every little piece of it!

Here's our group, minus Adam and me, waiting for the train to take off.

We rode down to the Depot and listened/watched a story. In the middle of the story, Santa appeared! Charlie was completely enchanted. He kept yelling "Hi Santa" and waving madly!

Waiting in line to get our ornament

In the story we heard, there was a snowflake ornament, and each of the kids were given one by the conductor.

SANTA! He would've sat there all night if we let him.

Looking at some trains.

On our way back to the station. Sam wasn't in the mood for a picture...

Here's our train!

Our Train left at 4:15 and it got back at about 5:30. We had thought we were going to go to Bentleyville to see the amazing light displays. However, it causes CRAZY MAJOR traffic jams. What took us 20 minutes to get from our house to the trains, took us 3 hours to get home! Charlie ate snacks in the car for his supper, and went straight to bed! It was a long ending to our great day!

We had a great trip! Tony and I talked about making the Holiday train a tradition every year. It was simply magical for Charlie!

  1. Three HOURS?!! You gotta be kiddin' me! Maybe it wouldn't be worth the trip up there just for that like we've talked of doing sometime. It sounds like you really made the most of your getaway weekend...you're probably tired today! The Holiday train sounds like something maybe even some old folks might enjoy! ;)
