Snow day #5

Today was my 5th snow/cold day this year. That means I get to make up 2 of those days! Our superintendent said that school board would review it and let us know when we'll make them up. I'm assuming we'll lose our spring break (4 day weekend at the end of March), but I'll wait and see! I don't mind making them up. It was worth it not to drive over to Austin in this horrible driving weather. While it was awful to drive in, it sure was beautiful to look at out our back windows.

It's even prettier today, but I didn't venture out back today!

Yesterday, Charlie and I spent the day alone. But today, Connor and Megan joined us. My uncle Rob and aunt Amy weren't able to miss work due to the weather. As we know so well with Tony's job, hospitals and nursing homes don't shut down due to weather! Charlie was so excited to have some kids to play with! He was entertained all day, and so were Connor and Megan!

Megan helped feed breakfast this morning.

Charlie was showing Connor his awesome barn and tractor!

Then Connor played with Charlie's toy car!

We had a nice day together! Tony was home today, but he slept in late this morning and took a long nap this afternoon. He missed out on the picture fun. Now he's off to rehearsal! I know I'll get to see my husband again in a little over a week when the show is over!

Phone dump

I just downloaded 598 photos and videos from my phone onto my computer. I may have a problem with taking pictures of my little man.... I thought I should share a few of the downloads!

The tongue is outta control!

Choosing the right book is difficult.

Just a kitty in a box.

Mother Mary? Or just goofing around with the afghan made by Great Great Aunt Bev

All done! Did I make this mess?
Playing is serious business.
 Bath time Mohawk

 Petting kitty
 Being silly

Hanging out in bed with a sleeping daddy.

 Kisses!
Napping away even though I opened the curtains and made a bunch of noise.

 Snuggly kitty
Charlie is finally doing his part around the house
Supper tonight was a little messy...
Every time he would look at Santa he'd say "Gampa?" I think he's thinking Grandpa Alan is Santa!

Favorite Outfits

I found the most adorable shirt at Old Navy on the Clearance rack last week. If you can believe it, it was $2! I had to buy it for Charlie! Then I had to take lots and lots of pictures of him wearing it. Here are just a few....

Just playing with one of his kitchen toys.

Someone can reach the counters now. Not cool for Momma and Daddy!

Rolling around

He really wants in the fridge!

Another favorite outfit of mine is hand me down jammies from Harvey. I think Charlie looks like a little man in them!

Not only does Charlie have A LOT of hand me down clothes from Harvey, he also has toys from them. We are forever grateful for the handing down of such great toys and clothes!

Charlie doesn't really like to sit in this chair right now, but he LOVES to rock it.

Snow snow snow

We had another dumping of snow today, so when Tony got home from work he thought he should shovel. Before I knew it, BOTH boys were out there shoveling! Charlie was loving every minute of it!

and they're off!

Posing for this momma

So excited he could play with Daddy's hood!

Hood's down, but the smile went away. There's just too much to look at outside!

First Hair Cut!

Here are the in action shots! We were going to do the hair cut with Charlie on my lap, but we thought we'd try a booster first. He did such an amazing job! He sat on the booster the entire time and never whined or fussed AT ALL! I was so proud of him. Alyssa had a little Elmo toy for him to play with, and he loved looking in the mirror and making faces at himself.

Here's the big boy getting ready for the first few cuts. Now, I'm not sentimental enough to need to keep some snippets of his hair, but both my parents said I must, so I did. We now have a little envelope with the first three cuts of hair.

Before and After Shots

I had wanted to wait until Charlie was 1 to get his first haircut, but the boy's hair has been out of control! It was getting very long in the back and it could cover half of his ears! So, today we headed up to see Alyssa at Classic Cuts. She is one of Charlie's Aunt Amanda's best friends.

I had the camera out during morning play time so I could see some before and after crazy hair!

He had a bath this morning, but his hair was still a crazy mess!
There you can see how long it was getting.

He was showing me where his sippy cup goes.
Crawling around having a good time.

Trying to get inside the box with Sol.

Grumpy after Sol kicked him out of the box.

Everything in our house can be turned into a drum, including the garbage.
Someone was trying to escape on me today!

Here's some after hair! He looks like such a big boy! We had to stop and have lunch with Tony so Tony could get a look at our big guy!

More of the new do!

Side shot
 Back shot!

My next post will have the pictures from my phone of the actual hair cut! Stayed tuned, I know you're on the edge of your seat wanting to see them!

G & g

Tony and Charlie spent some time with Great Grandpa Bob and Great Grandma Jayne last week. I didn't realize that Tony had taken the camera along, but I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I was downloading pictures!
