Another day, more Remer fun!

I posted about Charlie's first swimming experience, but I never gave the rest of the highlights from Day 4. Now we're already onto Day 6! Yikes, Here are some highlights from days 4 and 5!

Brian and Kate gave Harvey and Natalie their birthday presents here since they were unable to make the big birthday bash. This is the silly game they gave, Doggie Doo. You feed the dog, squeeze the leash, and the dog poops the food! You put the poop on your shovel if you were the lucky one to make the dog poop on your turn. The first one with 4 poops on your shovel wins. Yes, this is a real game. Hilarious. Even better, the dog makes the most disgusting tooting noises.

Here's my little man sleeping during supper. He's done this almost every night! EXCEPT when we went out to eat. Then, he wanted to eat and fuss a bit.

After a delicious meal of egg bake (courtesy of Kate, Mindy and me), the girls enjoyed some freezie pops! Frigid fun!

We got to celebrate the Harve man turning 4 on Tuesday!! Here's the shirtless birthday boy. It was very hot for his big day. We enjoyed some leftover Spiderman cake. Yummmm

Since there are so many helping hands around this resort, I have barely fed Mr. Charles. Here's Aunt Laur taking a turn feeding the little big guy.

Mom and I "watched" Harvey and Natalie yesterday while Jon and Mindy went on a day date to Grand Rapids. Grandma Cher invited us to Cabin 7 to make our own tortilla pizzas.

Here's the goofball posing for me!

Grandpa Alan enjoyed sneaking up on a swinging Harvey.

Monkey bar fun!

Here's Charlie and I on our own personal dock. It was a beautiful night last night.

Grandma Becky and Charlie before we headed to Grand Rapids for supper at Zorbas.

Can you spot the baby? Charlie fell asleep this morning after he woke me up QUITE early...
Today, Mom, Charlie and I headed to Walker to do some shopping. I bought a new pair of dress Keens for school/work at Reeds. I love that store. Hopefully they'll help my back pain when I'm on my feet all day! I'm heading in to Remer for ice cream soon! That's a tradition I'd never miss! Tonight is the big mystery supper. Laur, Jill and Cher have done their best to keep it a secret...Wonder what we're having!

The First Swim

Charlie has 2 great aunts that LOVE to spoil him and his cousins. They are really very lucky kiddos. These wonderful great aunts bought an adorable inflatable pool for Charlie and some pool toys. We thought today was the perfect day to break it out. Aunt Laur brought buckets of warm water out from the cabin, and Charlie hopped right in. Well...Charlie's mom plopped him right in!

As you can see, Charlie didn't hate it! He was even smiling and talking to Harvey and his toys for a while. He would splash his little legs around.

It didn't take long for Charlie's big cousins to come join the fun. Maya wanted to play with him in the worst way, but being that she is 21 months old, she didn't understand that babies don't appreciate water in the face. Charlie took it like a champ though, no tears or even whines!!! Maya was also helping me give Charlie a bath in the pool! What a big girl she is getting to be!

Natalie and Harvey were very gentle with Charlie. They rubbed his arms and talked to him. Here's the best cousin shot on my camera!

Here are the doting cousins!

Charlie was all smiles while wrapped in his brand new beach towel from his great aunts!

Cedar Point: Day 3

Yesterday was day 3 at Cedar Point Resort! The day began early for young Charlie and me. We took a walk out to the dock bright and early and joined Laur and Jill for a little breakfast and some smiles. Pretty soon it was time for Charlie to take his first nap of the day. While he napped, I played ball with Harvey and Natalie. Maya was a swinging away. She still isn't so sure of saying my name, but she can say Baby Charlie (Charwie) for sure!

Mid morning my mom arrived to camp. She came bearing lots and lots of delicious homemade cookies. I may be helping her devour those....

After lunch, the sun was shining brightly. Natalie and Harvey hit the beach!

The flies were bugging us, so Charlie and I moved inside. He had lots of smiles for me!

We were able to do some Face time chatting with Tony (Daddy) for a little bit. Charlie talked and talked and smiled for Daddy.

Charlie ALMOST rolled over for us. I don't think it will be too long until we have a mobile little guy.

Here are some floor time smiles.

After supper it was perfect weather for some fishing off the dock. The kids were catching them like crazy!

Mother/Daughter shot before the big nighttime boat ride.

Here's the boat crew.

Riding off into the sunset. To the right, you can see Brian paddling on the sailboard.

A beautiful way to end the day.

Summer Vaca: Days 1 & 2

Let me begin my vacation post by getting a little sappy. On Charlie's first summer vacation, Tony is at home working. We are all VERY sad about this, including Tony. But, that's just the way it goes sometimes.

Now, on to vacation update!

Charlie and I hitched a ride with Grandpa Alan and Grandma Cher. C was a terrific traveler! He slept until Forest Lake where we stopped for a lunch at McDonalds with Dave and Donnis. Charlie talked and talked to us while we ate. Then he slept until we needed to make a diaper stop and a treat at DQ. By the time we hit Remer, he was ready to get out and stretch. He was bombarded with cousins, aunts and uncles, but he loved every second of it.

Here's Charlie with his 3 cousins!
This morning we had some early morning visitors. Cabin 1 was the place to be. Jon, Natalie and Harvey came to babysit so I could run into town with Kate and Mindy. Pretty soon Brian and Maya joined the fun. Maya was loving Charlie's toys!

It was POURING this morning, so Natalie and Harvey took turns on the iPad. Grandpa Alan couldn't tear Harvey away from Star Wars Angry Birds.

Making silly faces at his cousins!

After a day of GREAT naps, lots of smiles, a big long walk and enjoying the sun, it was time for bed. Natalie came to Cabin 1 to help me put Charlie to sleep. She's such a wonderful helper!

Wireless is less than desirable, so we had to settle with a phone talk with Daddy before bed.  Charlie listened closely and smiled a lot while he listened to Daddy talk.

Since the shades don't keep the sun out very well, I made a little tent for Charlie. He went right to sleep!

I discovered that Facetime works a whole lot better out and about, so here are Laur and Jill talking and looking at Tony. I took him on a little tour of the site.

We've been having a great time so far. My mom is coming up tomorrow, so that will be fun!

K2s Birthday Bash

Saturday was the day to celebrate Natalie and Harvey's birthdays. We had a delicious lunch, followed by LOTS of gifts and cake and ice cream. I even got to try out the new trampoline for a bit. Those things sure are a workout....Here are some pictures that highlight the festivities!

Natalie is all ready to hit the sidewalks with her new roller blades and protective gear!

Harvey has TONS of new Iron Man and Spiderman toys!

Natalie got some more outdoor adventure fun with this new scooter!

I couldn't resist this. Tony, Charlie and I got Harvey this mask and cool glove that makes the spidey web noise when you pretend to shoot the web out.

We got Natalie this Barbie and little sister tagalong bike. The Barbies actually ride the bike! It looks just like Natalie and Jon on their tagalong!

Natalie and her Hello Kitty cake.

Harvey and his Spiderman cake

Tickle fun with Uncle Tony and Grandpa Alan!

Big helper feeding Charlie

Snuggle time with Harvey and Aunt Mindy.

It was such a fun party! We can't wait to spend the week with those cuties on vacation next week!!

Sol's new toy

Mindy was at a friend's garage sale and found a neat toy that she thought Charlie might like. I said, get it and we'll pay you back! He's a little too young for it now, but Sol is showing him how to use it the right way.

She's trying to figure out how to get the little beads around the wires.

Now she figured it's easier to use her teeth. Although she quite effectively used her paws to move the beads around.

Now she's moving the little animals around as well.

Cousin Lovin

My cousins Connor and Megan spent the day with us today. Of course I had my camera out...

Charlie loved talking to Meg during floor time.

Here he is anticipating Larry the Lion Blanket covering his face.

"Mom, why is that camera always glued to your face...?"

We had a piano lesson. He's getting quite good. I'm thinking child prodigy.

Marvin the Music Making Monkey also was a good conversationalist. (Yes I name all of Charlie's toys. No I don't care if that makes me weird)

Meg and Connor both get 20 minutes a day on the iPad. Here's Meg taking her turn.

Since Meg was busy on the iPad, Charlie talked with Larry the Lion.
We had a fun day, and we can't wait to have them back again next Wednesday!
