Luna and more...

Tony and I have been having fun taking pictures of Luna and pretty much anything else we see! Our camera is LOADED with pictures. Here's a sampling of what we've seen:

This is my favorite flower. We have a whole field of them on the south side of our house! It's so pretty! I just wish I could smell them...apparently my body decided it was cold season again.

Luna's basket.

I'm growing catnip for Luna, and I gave her a little leaf of it. She went a little crazy! Check out the tongue on that kitty!

After she ate it, she rolled around on the ground for a while.

Tony must've taken this shot. When I uploaded the pictures, I found it!

Soccer Star Take 2!

Last night Conner had a soccer game. He was very jealous when I went to Meg's game on Monday, so he made sure to secure my presence for his own game. He also requested that I bring my camera. Here are a few shots of my little Con Con.

Here he is as goalie. However, his favorite position is defender.

An inspirational chat with the coach aka Dad.

Every once in a while he'd do a little pose for me out on the field. What a ham!

Backwards kick!

Samuel Adam

Last night at 8:15, Samuel Adam arrived! The happy dad called Tony just a few short hours later! He told us to come up and visit if we are available. Today after work, Tony and I went to meet our new little friend.

Soccer star!

Tonight, Megan's soccer team, "Orange Crush", creamed the Lime team! It was a very fun game to watch! Megan did a great job on and off the field.

She was always running for the ball!

They took turns kicking the ball in. Now it's Meg's turn!

A nice cold drink after working so hard out on the field!

Meg's coach was praising her for her wonderful job out on the field. He told her she was a great defensive player!

Out of the 5 kindergartners sitting on the bench, Meg was the only one watching and cheering her team on!

Brother sister photo. I forgot to put the sun shade on my camera however....

The game is over!

Just playing around...

As I mentioned earlier, Tony and I bought a new camera. We spent some time Sunday and today after work playing around with it. The flowers/bees are Tony's and the birds are mine.

Prom 2012!

Oma Kathe, Amy, Kaylee, Meg and I headed down to St. Ansgar, IA to see Michelle strut her stuff at the prom grand march. This year's theme was Fiesta Prom 2012. And Fiesta it was!

Michelle and her boyfriend Skyler

Family shot!

Cousin shot!

We also do quite an extensive photo shoot after the grand march.

The kids walked out of the stage and it was decorated like a smashed pinata. There was giant candy scattered all over the gym. Kaylee requested a picture with the lollipop.

The decorations were so detailed and wonderful! The parents put A LOT of time into decorating. Marybeth and Norb said they got home after Midnight last night from decorating.

Luna's Big Milestone!

Tony is Luna's first birthday! It is a big deal at our household because we have now switched from Kitty food to Cat food. She's getting so grown up....

In celebration of her birthday, Tony and I purchased a brand new camera. It is a Nikon D5100 SLR. I just took 20 pictures of Luna in a matter of seconds due to the quick shutter speed. I'm in love with it already!

Happy first birthday Luna!

Oxbow Adventures

Our school goes out to Oxbow Park about every other week come springtime. Yesterday was one of those days! It was a gorgeous day to be out and about in the woods!

Here's the crew I went with. One 5th grader, three 3rd graders, one 1st grader and 3 adults! We went on a nice long 2 hour hike on the Zumbro Trail.

We took breaks to look around and play a bit too.

We only  saw these on one tree, but they were the brightest orange! Interesting...

The woods were beautiful.

The kids got quite excited when I spotted tracks.

The Third Bridge area has undergone some reconstruction since last summer.

Some were tired after our long hike.

We ended our trip by spending some quality time with the baby porcupine. He's SO adorable!

This just in....

This just in---I just received an e-mail from my Augsburg adviser saying that it has been confirmed: I am a student teacher at Stewartville Public Schools this next fall!!!!!

I do not know who my cooperating teacher is yet, but I do not care. I'm just so excited to be at my former school (and 2 blocks from our house)!

Bug turns 11!

11 years ago today, one of my favorite people was born! Kaylee Michelle! The fam had a little shindig for her last night.

Today after school, Kaylee Bug walked up to our house, and we went out for a blizzard! Delicious!

Now she's being a responsible 5th grader and working on her homework!  Happy Birthday Kaylee Bug!

A "Good Friday"

Ever since I can remember, the Smidt family has gathered at Grandma J's or Aunt Amy's on Good Friday to dye Easter eggs. This year was no exception! Here's Connor and the one egg he dyed!
Kaylee was the best "dyer" of all! She stayed at the table for the entire time! Meg and Nathan did a few, and disappeared outside with Connor.
My mom always does the most creative eggs. Who would've guessed....This was Tony's first Smidt Easter Egg egg-perience. I think it was a success!
Last night, we went over and watched Natalie and Harvey! We had SO much fun! Unfortunately, I took 20 pictures that they all were deleted because my camera is slowly fading.... Here's the only one it saved! You can see a bit of Harvey's faux hawk! He was so darn adorable!
Here they are singing one of our favorite songs to sing together. Precious!
